Tsavo East National Park is among Kenya’s oldest and largest parks established in 1948 on a 13,474 square kilometer land in a semi-arid area initially known as Taru desert near the town of Toi. It has its sister park called Tsavo West National Park bisected from it by a road and a railway line. These parks were named after the Tsavo River which flows from west to east with Chyulu Hills National Park bordering it and Tanzania’s Mkomazi Game Reserve. The park is best known for the big 5 game that include red dusted elephant, rhino, Masai lion, Cape buffalo and the leopard.


Day 1- Nairobi city to Tsavo East National Park
You are picked from your place of residence, hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by our company representative after your breakfast by 0700hrs and you drive along the Mombasa highway reaching around lunchtime in the park. You check-in to your hotel/lodge for lunch, relax up to 1600hrs and head out for an afternoon game drive in search for the elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, impala and zebras among other available game in the park. Birds like kingfishers, ostriches and starlings are among the 500 bird species that will grace your photographic skills and love. Lions and leopards may be encountered as they get out of their dens ready for a night hunt. You will then be returned to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2- Full day game drive
Have a morning breakfast and set off for a morning game drive at 0700hrs to explore Tsavo’s wilderness consisting of the large elephants, buffaloes, zebras, warthogs and antelopes among others. This full day game drive will give the opportunity to see the other half of park’s game that you missed to see on your afternoon game drive upon your arrival into Tsavo East National Park. You will have your picnic lunch in the park with a natural feel of an African wilderness.
In the afternoon you visit Galana River where there is highest concentration of the park’s wildlife to sight crocodiles, hippos, waterbucks, dikdik and elephants grazing along the River banks as the birds like kingfishers hunt for the fish in the water before you return to the lodge with beautifully memorable photographs in handy. return to lodge fro dinner and overnight stay.


Day 3- Nature Walk and depart for Nairobi
After your last breakfast in the park, you make morning visits to some natural attractions like the attractive Lugard Falls, a wonderful landscape of water-sculpted channels and crocodile point where you may view several of crocodiles and hippos in display of their skins then optionally, you can choose to pay a visit to Mundanda Rock and Aruba Dam on the Voi River which has a high concentration of diverse wild life as a summary of your park’s visit and you return to the lodge to pack for your departure reaching Nairobi late in the evening.
