Nakuru National Park was established in 1961 and covers 188 square  kilometers offering protection to the salty Lake Nakuru in the rift valley of  Kenya with algae attracting a variety of pink flamingoes and other bird species  like Goliath Heron, pied kingfisher, Verreuax’s eagle and hamerkop commonly  spotted ashore. The wildlife here include warthogs, baboons and large mammals  like black and white rhinoceros introduced in a rhino sanctuary, Rothschild  giraffes, waterbucks, and predators like lions, cheetahs and leopards are often  in the present days.
